Let's face it, we American's have a lot of stuff and when you own a lot of stuff, you typically need more storage. Hence the addition of the walk-in-closet. Many of the new homes today have a walk-in- closet the size of a bedroom, complete with drawers, shelves, hanging space, and a chair or bench. This kind of storage has changed the way we decorate master bedrooms today. Gone are the days of owning dressers, armoires, and chests. We simply do not need that form of storage today. Last month I participated in a free design seminar hosted by Accentuate Your Home in Franklin TN. After the seminar I had an eye opening conversation with one of the attendees. This person was fun, full of life, and I could tell that she had a lot of style herself. Basically, we were talking about design trends and what was going on in the home decor market today. Then she asked me how I decorated my own home. I replied that my home was a combination of English and French decor with an eclectic twist.
